CHAPTER TWO — THE TRUTH UNVEILED
Betrayal! The word echoed through the streets of Konohagakure and the halls of the Kage’s office building were filled with little more than just that word as the very walls shouted it aloud. The Kage had betrayed the village! He had been discovered to go out every so often in the week and murder innocents in a nearby forest, sometimes even unsuspecting shinobi of his very own village… some knew that he could not be trusted, the man had appeared from practically out of nowhere three years ago after the last Hokage had disappeared, carrying with him he had the old man’s will that said he would be the new Hokage. But now his true face has been unveiled… the face of a man who worships the dark god Jashin and who leads the organization of Eikyuutsuki, hell-bent on the conquest of the world!
The village of Konohagakure can find itself blessed however. Now that the root of evil has been removed a new Hokage has risen to power: the assistant to the old Hokage, Kietsumeka Sasayaki. Due to this it seems that now Konoha shall be turning over quite a new leaf, as hunters are set out to track the leader of Eikyuutsuki and the members of his organization. As traces of this news began to slowly spread bit by tiny bit, it has reached the ears of those who are part of another secretive group by the name of Hasshodo, which has begun to combat Eikyuutsuki in silence and sometimes with the clang of weapons in small skirmishes. For as far as is known, the evil of Jashin still lingers in the countries of Wind and Fire.
Yet Eikyuutsuki may be the least of the things that trouble the leaders of the villages, as tension has begun to rise high between the daimyo of several nations. The king of the Earth country and the lord of the Water country especially seem to have begun to bare hatred towards one another, debates becoming heated whenever the two meet. It is clear that a war is coming, and the lord of Water is out for blood, the king of Earth being hardly less interested in gore, already trying to build alliances with the rulers of the Wind and Fire countries. No doubt will these two drag down even others with them as well…
Even amongst all that happening, it is not yet all of it. Within the lands of Fire and Water, especially near their Hidden Villages of Leaf and Mist auras of incredible eeriness and power have been sensed by shinobi and civilian alike, auras that silenced the song of birds and frogs and even the rushing of leaves in the wind. Whispers tell these auras seem to follow the Mizukage and the newly risen Hokage, but no words of surety have been able to confirm the rumours. “Evil spirits follow them,” the gossiping lips of waitresses, maids and salesmen tell. The Mizukage has even at the occasion been dubbed as “Akutamashiiou” or “Evil Spirit King”. The man himself seems to dismiss it all with a cold smile and a stone gaze.
The future seems filled with the sound of thundering drums of war, soon to be let loose. How will the Jashinists cease this great opportunity to spill blood for their god? And however they do, will Hasshodo be able to cut them short in their tracks? Of all that is going on, little is sure, but perhaps both of the organizations and their associates will take the source of these auras and use them for their own purposes in the hunt to either conquer the bloody world and cage its demons for a many-tailed army or ensure it will continue to slumber in peace…
Events upcoming! The Eight-Tailed Beast has begun on a rampage through the Earth country and shinobi teams are being formed to halt the creature and capture it! Also, in secret, Kirigakure has begun to form plans of invasion... who will be their first victim?
